There exists a strong correlation between a military member's ability to accomplish the mission successfully and the quality of his/her family experience. Because of this, Airman & Family Readiness Center offers activities to promote a healthy family life.

We also have informational books and printed material on a variety of topics regarding family life issues.

Military & Family Life Consultants (MFLC) - Department of Defense initiative in support of military members and families. A solution-focused consultation, and members and/or families may have up to six visits. Military & Family Life Consultants are licensed clinical counselors assigned to Peterson AFB to work with families, individuals, couples, and children to provide non-medical problem identification counseling services. Non-medical counseling services include anger management, conflict resolution, parenting, relationship issues, homesickness, deployment stress and decision-making skills. Appointments can be made by calling (719) 640-9961.

Training
Training is available on a variety of topics for organizational or individual needs. Courses include: Key Spouse, Conflict Resolution, Communication Strategies, Ethics, Team Building/Team Conflict Resolution, Motivation Strategies, Personality Plus.

Support Groups Available
Single Parent Network - Open to all parents.

Adoption Information Fair - Sponsored by the four military installations in the Pikes Peak region. Connects military families with community adoption agencies.

Heart Link - Hosts a quarterly Heart Link Spouse Orientation Program designed to help new spouses gain a better understanding of the Air Force. Lunch included.

School Liaison - Brings schools, parents and the command together in meeting the educational needs of the military child and serves as a point of contact for all who desire assistance.
